Exploring the Top 10 Largest Lakes In Kansas
Saint Louis Explorers Club member Jennifer Strong McConachie (MN’22) recently swam across each of the largest lakes in Kansas. McConahcie is a multisport endurance athlete and the author of Go Far and Go Multisport. She said that swimming through the largest bodies of water in her home state, often used as regional reservoirs, helped her learn more about the native rivers and watersheds of the Plains by immersing herself in them. The swims also aimed to raise awareness of drought conditions in the Midwest, all while experiencing sun, waves, wind, wet, heat, and storms, as well as studying water quality and levels.
